Hackney Downs History Walk
Join Immediate Theatre’s Theatre Exchange group to discover the history of this much-loved park, from its bucolic past through uprisings, education, civic celebration and demolition to our current meadows and mosaics, meeting some theatrical surprises along the way.

Our flagship youth performance competition, Social Action brings all our youth theatres together under one roof to perform a piece close to their hearts.
The performances are developed in conjunction with young people and professional theatre makers to explore real world issues affecting young people.
This year (2026) we are exploring mental health and wellness.
