Estate Based Youth Theatres

Details

We have been providing a FREE high quality open access youth theatres on estates in Hackney for 11 years engaging young people who do not traditionally have access to arts opportunities.

Our Estate Based Youth Theatres are currently on three locations in Hackney, engaging young people aged 8 – 19 years old in FREE youth theatre activities. We create a platform so that the voices of young people can be heard and the opportunity to develop skills in performance, make new friends, increase self confidence, team working and create plays which explore issues of interest to the participants.

Weekly workshops run from October to July during term time. In the summer holidays participants take part in an intensive programme where they have the opportunity to create a new play and perform it to their peers, members of the community and local decision makers.
