Advanced Youth Theatre
Details
- 17th November 2011
The Advanced Youth Theatre programme is a project which has emerged out of the success of previous short term projects. Such as our response to the riots “Frenzy”
We identify young people through our estates and school based programmes that would benefit from participation in this skills development group, to work with other like minded and committed young people who come from all corners of the borough. Participants are required to continue to attend their original project and to provide support and leadership to their peers.
Now well under way in central Hackney the Advanced Youth Theatre consists of up to twenty young people who will be working towards shows and developing new skills. Members will also have the opportunity to feed back into the company; creating new workshop packages or productions.
Productions
The AYTs performance of Get The Greedy by Jonathan Wright. The show followed the misadventures of a young runaway and the characters she encounters in 24 hours on the streets. Check out the gallery for some photos of the show.
Pathways to Employment
Through their contribution to the group we will identify young people who would benefit from more formal training and employment opportunities.
Sessions run every Tuesday 6pm – 8pm at the Immediate Theatre offices.
