Exposure 2010 exposes young stars
35 gangsters, dancers, beggars and cops teamed up on Friday evening, 20th August with invigorating results.
After just two weeks of drama workshops the young people were transformed into stars of Beggars and Choosers, taking ownership of the stage based in The Round Chapel, Lower Clapton. Some beginner actors even found themselves convincingly playing leading roles including 17 year old, Daniel Gordon who wowed the crowd as “Mac The Knife”.
Inspired by the 18th Century script, The Beggars Opera, a team of experienced and trainee directors, choreographers, designers, musicians and the cast of 13 to 19 year olds collaborated to shorten, adapt and personalize the centuries-old story into a contemporary celebration of 21st Century social commentary and youthful exuberance.
Exposure 2010 is one of Immediate Theatre’s summer projects and aims to target young people to create a play in two weeks. For more information please call 020 7012 1677
