The Yellow Brick Path

GIVING A VOICE TO HACKNEY YOUNG PEOPLE

Lights...Action...Talent...music, dance and emotional drama…plus some laughs along the path and additional entertainment from the young people in our youth groups.

Hackney’s ground-breaking community-based theatre company presents a showcase of some of its most exciting new work. Immediate Theatre premieres its latest commissioned thought-provoking play -  “The Yellow Brick Path”, written by Jonathan Wright.

Reflecting many of today’s social issues, it is an insight into the lives of a family with conflicting emotions and motivations that strike those trying to make a better life for themselves. Performed by our Advanced Youth Theatre, the show is supported by a top team of professional designer, musician, choreographer and director.

We will also have the directorial debut of film short produced by one of our Peer Facilitators – Redd Roche. ‘Rumourz’ follows siblings Daniel and Stephanie and their arrival at a new council estate and shows how one little act of gossip can quickly turn in to something a little more sinister.  Performers are all local young people from Woodberry Down.
